Watertown Food Pantry

The Food Pantry of the Watertown, South Dakota Seventh-day Adventist Church has been in operation since 2002.  The Watertown Church food pantry director oversees the distribution of food to an average of over 200 individuals per month.  We receive the foods for our pantry from Feeding South Dakota, headquartered at Sioux Falls, SD, which is a division of Feeding America.  We receive a delivery once a month most always the 4th Thursday, and at that time our pantry is open to the public from Noon to 3 PM.  We are also open every 2nd Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM for those who may be working and cannot make it on the 4th Thursday.

Currently our pantry is assisting about sixty families a month, with a total of approximately two hundred forty individuals.  We do not make up boxes for our patrons, but rather have them come into our pantry and shop from the items on the shelves, and in our freezers and refrigerator.  The days of our actual deliveries we set the foods out on tables in our fellowship hall, making their shopping much easier and less crowded.

Our pantry is funded by donations, both from our church members, and from our patron's getting food.  No one is required to make a donation.
